Since the 1990s, the Armed Forces have been repeatedly used in public security actions in Brazil. How did they develop and what impact did they have on the military? To answer these questions, 16 interviews with Armed Forces officers are gathered here. As a whole, they allow us to learn about the experience and worldview of a generation of officers who participated in these Armed Forces domestic employment operations and to reflect both on the challenges they faced and on the legacy they left.
