In November 2016, the CPDOC Audiovisual and Documentary Center organized the International Seminar on Archive Documentaries - Archives in Movement.2 This meeting encouraged debate and reflection about the distinct pre-existing modes of incorporation of images in the field of audiovisual production with a documentary nature. The films and practices analyzed in the 13 interventions which composed the seminar were part of the same territory of production, generically called "found footage" - works whose basic principle is the reuse of preconceived images. As we saw in the various presentations, however, this is a vast territory constituted by a variety of intentions, formats, aesthetics, and styles.
